Jan
will do anything to have power, notoriety and her own twisted version
of love.
Beth will do anything to have Jan.
Bored with their
jobs at the nursing home, desperate for stimulation, they plunge themselves
into a dark world of fear and torture where their exploration of danger,
domination and eroticism begins to spiral murderously out of control.
From
the producers of last year's hit "Liberations", inspired by a true
story, and fresh from its success on the Broadway Fringe, 'I
Found Her Tied to My Bed' is " disturbing, thought-provoking and
edgy as hell. "
Produced with help from the Liverpool bondage community, the play contains strong language and scenes that some may find disturbing.
"Two
women's exploration of eroticism, power and danger threatens to careen
beyond their control in this seductive, even scary drama." Joshua

"An intelligent, wistful dark comedy ... is everything theatergoers look for and often don't find. It's got humor and pathos; it's vulnerable, thought-provoking, smart, hip, disturbing, quirky and edgy as hell. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde's famous quote about cats, "I Found Her Tied to My Bed" is something of a small masterpiece." GayCityNews

The wonderful Julia and her crew at the Metropolitan (21-23 Berry Street, Liverpool L1 9DF, 0151 709 5055) - if you're on Berry Street look in; the food's excellent and the beer's cheap and they have some wicked club nights upstairs. Brilliant place.
Cr8ve Print (74-82 Rose Lane, Liverpool, L18 8EE, 0151 724 3131) for doing all our printing at very competetive rates and making a superb job of it.
The Royal Liverpool University Hospital Trust for lending us the costumes and the screen.
Club Mercy, Liverpool's longest running fetish club, for giving us their support and showing us the ropes. So to speak.
The lovely Steve Brady for the loan of a bed.
The wonderful Wendy for giving up her evening to rescue us.
FAQ
We've credited the BDSM community for their help. More than one person has questioned whether there is such a thing as a BDSM "community". There is; people meet, form friendships, go to the same clubs, shop at the same trade fairs. It's a very safety conscious group and that community is an important tool in maintaining safety; anyone who isn't safe is identified and excluded.
This concerns us; yes the play is about a couple who use torture for sexual kicks, yes we turned to the BDSM community for help, but there is no correlation between the two. The sado-masochist community have proved themselves to be sane, level headed people. It would be grossly unfair if people walked away from Tied thinking that it was representantive of the BDSM community.
A couple of people who've seen the play in rehearsal have questioned whether something like that could ever happen. It did happen, in fact the playwright left out some of the more lurid details. See this link if you want to know more.
